Context
A group of five consolidated entities in agribusiness and property, with a finance team that produces a board pack every month.
The problem
Management waited weeks after month end for a board pack assembled by hand across five entities. The cockpit reports the whole group against budget and prior year straight from the ledger, reconciled and available the morning after close.
The constraint
Five entities, a general ledger running on-premises, and budget workbooks maintained by Finance in SharePoint.
What we built
- A group overview: headline KPIs, revenue against budget by month and by cluster, and performance per consolidated entity
- A consolidated statement of profit or loss by entity, with budget and prior-year comparatives and a budget-to-actual bridge
- Reporting controls applied to the statement, and figures reconciled to the board pack before any page is published
- The headline figures on a phone, for management between meetings
How it works
Business Central is read through an on-premises data gateway. Finance keeps budget and forecast workbooks in SharePoint Online, refreshed on the same schedule. One Power BI semantic model applies row-level security by entity and cluster, and a published app serves separate audiences for operations and the board. Figures are reconciled to the board pack before any page is published.
What changed
The group is reported against budget and prior year straight from the ledger, reconciled and available the morning after close, instead of weeks later.

Manufacturing executive cockpit
Sales, margin, cash and supply chain read nightly from SAP, from the P&L waterfall down to each product range.
Constraint. Figures lived in SAP and in forecast workbooks and were assembled by hand each month.

Projects and stock platform
Every site followed from signed quote to final payment, with materials reserved from the quote and stock that stays right.
Constraint. No ERP behind it: the platform is the system of record for projects and stock.

Medicine availability platform
Doctors see which pharmacy has a medicine in stock, estimated from supplier invoices, and distributor commissions are billed automatically.
Constraint. Availability is not published anywhere, so it is estimated from supplier invoices.
